This high energy acoustic band is comprised of four award winning young musicians whose repertory spans folk to pop, Celtic to country, and bluegrass to gospel. Their signature sound is tight harmony with hot fiddling and original arrangements. They’ve won numerous awards individually and as a band, including best bluegrass/folk band in the Rio Grande Valley in 2014.




Tomas Cotik/Tao Lin

Argentinian violinist Tomas Cotic and Chinese pianist Tao Lin have garnered rave reviews for their recordings of the complete music for piano and violin by Shubert, and have also released a much lauded Piazzola CD. Both artists are international competition prize winners. Fanfare Magazine described their work as having “vibrancy and attention to detail… perfectly conceived…urgently recommended.” |




Donald Sinta Quartet

First prize winner at the 2013 Concert Artists Guild competition, the Donald Sinta Quartet performed at Carnegie Hall in November 2014. Other recent performances include recitals in Scotland and Greece, and at the Paris Conservatory, Versailles Conservatory, and Shanghai Conservatory. The group is named for its mentor, legendary University of Michigan Saxophone Professor Donald Sinta. The critics say, “…immensely entertaining… they really are superb musicians!”  Audiophile Audition.




Cal Poly Jazz Band

The band performs swing dance and blues repertoire with the wall of sound possible only from a full big band (5 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones, rhythm section, and vocalist).  Performance appearances have included the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, Savanna Jazz Club in San Francisco, San Jose Jazz Society’s Sunday Jazz series, Morro Bay Jazz Festival, and PismoBeach Jubilee-by-the-Sea.  Direction is by Cal Poly Music Department professor Paul Rinzler.
