Enjoy some holiday music from Covenant Brass HERE

Covenant Brass Sextet

Saturday, March 5, 2022 - 7:30 PM

The Covenant Brass was formed in 2016 by a group of professional musicians and educators in the San Francisco Bay Area. The group has performed annually with a wide variety of repertoire and dynamic programming as well as premiere commissions from well-accomplished composers and arrangers. Members of the group regularly perform with local professional orchestras, jazz ensembles, chamber ensembles as well as domestic and international tours. We all embraced recording online during the pandemic, but we are excited to share our live music in Lompoc with six fabulous brass players. Personnel: Daniel Santos, trumpet; Mike Pakaluk, trumpet; Craig Hansen, Horn; Esther Armendariz, trombone; Andrew Hill, bass trombone and Johnathan Hsu, tuba. Michael Pakaluk will lead a Master Class for local high school students on March 4, 2022.

Silent Movie Accompanied by Christian Elliott

Friday, March 11, 2022 - 7:30 PM

Trained in classical and church organ, Christian Elliott is equally at home performing the musical literature of church or theatre. His historically accurate recreations of silent film scores place his work scoring and accompanying these films in particularly high demand. In 2009, he was recognized as Organist of the Year by the American Theatre Organ Society.

More about Christian Elliott

Ella Cinders will be the silent film Christian Elliott will be scoring and accompanying. Silent film star Coleen Moore was one of the most fashionable stars of the silent era and helped popularize the 'bobbed' haircut. The film also includes an uncredited cameo by comedian Harry Langdon, a rising star at the Mack Sennet Studios, whose work later rivaled that of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. Although Ms. Moore started her life in Michigan, her final years were spend in nearby Paso Robles. She was an astute investor as, what was then considered, a highly paid actress and even became a partner in Merrill Lynch for a period. The film Ella Cinders is a play on Cinderella and is a 1920's update of the well known fairy tale.
